Factory boost gauge question

i know i will probably be flamed for this one and should probably know better but .... can the factory boost gauge be connected to read actual boost? i want my car to have a stock look to it . don't worry i have a real boost gauge ... i just want to fool everyone into think i have a esi

or at least a bone stock tsi (not so long story but my title reads 92 eagle talon esi and no it was not a non turbo to turbo conversion)

No, it's driven off the ECU by doing lots of math. There's no mechanical drive to it. I don't know what you'd be up against trying to run the needle off an electric sender, but I've not heard of it being done. Nor, even attempted.

that's what i thought ... i remember reading at the tmo website something like that ... i guess i will have to just hook up my boost gauge.
