We were shipping this monstrosity to one of your fellow Tuners today. I had to post some pictures of what he'll have cooling his beast before it shipped because it is truly just enormous

At first it looks like our 1G Race...which is a damn big in its own right.

But I can fit my whole hand on the top plate WTF

Would like to see the pics of it on.

I have to say that with over a year on mine I am still extremely happy with everything and I will be in contact real soon as I will be in need of some new piping when I change out my turbo this season.

looks very nice, I was wanting price info on your smaller cores, and your new web site is down. Just wanting to know if you were aware of that?

You should be able to access the site now, our server had a little hiccup last night. If you had any questions for any of us here you're always welcome to send a PM, E-mail or call us.

TJ,
It's the same size as the core you received; crazy big! Would you post the installed picture in here? It looks so sinister :)

The one above might look something like this. I special ordered this from ETS with the end tanks custom to fit behind a 1g a talon bumper. This is a 4" core that fits behind the bumper cover of my car with absolutely no cutting what so ever. The end tanks are tapered back away from the bumper cover to avoid the curved shaped. 3" inlet and outlets which are longer than their standards to go through the core support to easily remove the t-bolt clamps from the engine bay.

I will try to get pics with the bumper cover installed tonight :)

OMG I venture to guess you have more than the ol 16G to cool there ;)

Are you planning to "customize" the bumper cover to allow airflow to the 1/3 of the core that would otherwise be coverered?

BTW.. check my gallery for my new bug catcher :D :dsm:

There is a plan for body work so I am planning 2 bumpers. I don't mind the whole cut look for specific things but just cruising I would like a full bumper in place. So my current one will get cut up and I will buy a new one for everyday driving. And by cut up I mean tastefull holes cut in a way to match the body and not just take a cut off wheel to as much as I can while still holding shape :) And yeah I am planning on somthing much larger than a 16g but I haven't decided yet :rocks:

Also yours looks awesome. Where did you get it from? How is it held up?

Yea, I'd like to do something "tasteful" yet still offer decent flow so am out searching for tips. Maybe a single rectangular cutout with a mesh grill painted the same color as my bumper?

Thanks! My neighbor (whom runs a sheetmetal shop) made the endtanks out of 1/8" AL based on a cardboard template I made up. Core is a Treadstone 24x10.5x3.5.

It attaches with two 1/8" thick AL tabs on the bottom securing it to the radiator support and another at the top that attaches to the latch support.

Definitely saving up for one of Jim's trick CNC bumpers :D

It really is worth the money. It holds it exactly where it needs to be and is really only the 2lbs he advertises :) I am pretty happy that my core fit on with it because Jim advertises it as a 33" overall length fit and mine is like 35"

Um you guys built me one for our 2G two years ago now. It is 28x12x4. Total with the CAST ALUMINUM END TANKS was 34x12x4. I might be able to gets pics tomorrow without the bumper cover on.

Steven,
That one of the biggest if not the biggest we've ever built for a 2G. Truly a massive IC! We've built tons of enormous intercoolers over the years, I just had a chance to shoot a quick picture of this one :)

Tom

Wow! That's even bigger than the custom IC you built for me, and I'm only going 10.8 and 133mph on mine :)
Yep another happy customer here, thanks!

I think it's mine. OMG :sneaky: It's supposed to be here the day after tomorrow. I hope it fits. :shhh: Thanks for the great CS Tom.

But it has to be with cast endtanks like ours. Cause we are cool like that. Pictures to come tomorrow or the next day. Going to the body shop to "Check In".

Steven

3" piping, twin Tials pre intercooler, cast aluminum end tanks, 26x12x4 core, one v-band for now off turbo, Q45 throttle body with 3 1/2" flare on the end of pipe.

Small teaser pictures for now. NO setup pictures for now.

My outlets are defintely 3". There are no neck downs in this system.

Steven

How hard is it to route those 3" ins and outs? TJ? I remember it was pretty tight with 2.5"s that my indy kit has. I 'd like to have 3 inch inlet/outlet even with 2.5 piping. I remember a couple of years ago or so Martin (AMS) did some testing and saw a bit less pressure drop that way. This 90 degree turn that short route systems have is the biggest 'kink' that we have to deal with in order to enjoy a neatly done piping.

What kind of cores do you guys (ETS) use?

I don't get why you would want to run something that big, to make your car over heat. I understand cooler air makes power, but it get's hot in maryland. My car would never get below 220 in day to day traffic. I have the d.s.s setup on my car and it cost 1,000 dollars. It's small but still flows over a 1000 cfm. It's just not as efficent as yours. I alway new nitrous would cool the air charge anyway. Your setup looks nice , but how does it work on a daily driver?

The piping is going to be really really close but it fits just fine. I will do my best to get some pics today or tomorrow. The car doesn't have a motor or anything but you will get an idea about how close it will be to the frame rail.
