When I start my car cold or hot, there seems to be an extra spark. I think it's the same sound as when you turn your key clockwise when the car is already on. I don't think its me holding the key down too long or something if thats possible. Any ideas?

Do you mean a grind?

You can't realy hear a spark, you might hear it if your pinging but based on your description it doesn't sound like that is your problem.

Disconnect your battery and then play with your key, does it feel like it returns from the starter position smoothly?

If so then it might be a problem with your starter not disengaging in which case taking your starter out and thoroughly cleaning it might help.

Yah extra grind. Ok thanks I'll try that advice with the battery removed and turning the key.

The problem went away and I haven't done anything. It might have been because the car was sitting on jacks for a couple weeks. I am driving it daily now and not experiencing the grind on ignition.
