checking for spark on DIS ignition?

Do you just pull the coil/wire pack for each cylinder and connect the spark plug back and let it touch something metal? Like how you check spark on a distributor type.

Really no ones ever heard of a distribute-less type of ignition?

I am not sure if you are referring to a coil on plug setup or simply the OEM style coil pack and spark plug wire setup. If you are referring to wire and plug setup the way I always do it is remove a spark plug or simply put a new plug into the end of one of your plug wires and crank the car and see if its making an arc on the plug itself. Do this for all the cylinders. Coil and plug setup I simply remove the coil plate so that all of the coils and the plate are loose and I put plugs into all of the coils and see if its arc-ing any of them. To be honest if you are having no spark at all I would put my bet on a cam angle sensor being bad. If its a spark plug wire setup with no spark the same would apply with the exception of the coil itself may just be bad. I hope this helps!!
