external wg ?

if a turbo is set up for external (cast)manifold wg, can you change it to 02 housing w/o having other problems... or do you have to change the way the turbo is set up on the turbine side ? or should i change it at all ? i have a evo mani ported on a 1g with buschur 20g and tial 40mm was wanting to get a tubular eq mani and put the wg on the o2 or even on the eq manifold....

In order to run an external gate on the manifold, you need to weld up the wastegate hole in the turbine housing. Weld it completely shut. If you wanted to run an external off an O2 housing, that same wastegate hole needs to be open. So, in order to do what you want to do, you would need to buy a custom O2 housing, and get a 40mm Tial flange welded onto it. That's the best way. Hard to find guys that will try to weld cast iron. gotta have the correct rod to do it.
