ok i am puting a tial 38mm external gate on my car i planed on facing the waste so the dump when downwards well that isnt going to happen if i try to bolt it up that way i hit the 02 housing so i have to face the dump part of the gate upwards towards the hood my question is has anyone done this on a 1g is there enough room to have a pipe bent off the the side? thats another question i have i have a bushur race core on my car and didnt know what the best thing to do with the dump tube was because of the intercooler piping i was told not to have all the exhaust gases go into the radator....and my last question is on the oil retrun line to i put a gasket on the turbo and then the oil return line or one on each? thanks for the input guys

Ok Im assuming your ext. gate is on the manifold? correct
Also when you say huge o2 housing in your profile do you mean EvoIII?
Where did you buy the dump tube from?
I had this problem on my car. I have the SBR ext. gate manifold and
an EvoIII o2 housing. I bought Dejons dumptube because it said it worked
with the SBR manifold but guess what it didnt work with the o2 housing WTF
So I had someone make me a dumptube. In my opinion just do that. It wont cost more
than $40 and you know itll be safe. You def. dont want exhaust blowing on yuor hood or in your intercooler :notgood:
For the oil return line gaskets one is for the turbo and the other for the line where it connects to the filter housing.

Hope this helps you

ok yes its on the manifold to be honnest im not sure what 02 hosuing i have the thing is huge. a friend of mine had it he paid 300 somthing for it and sold it to me for 80 because somthing happened and he needed cash quick im going to have someone make me one but i was afaird there wont be enough room to go up and bend the pipe over if you know what i mean

ok ill try and post a pic tomrrow have to barrow the g/fs camera

yes its the gate the manifold is a ported 2g that i had a good welder weld a flange on to it if i was over to the right another inch or so i would be in the clear but when i had the manifold in my hands and we marked out the spot to put the gate on i didnt think of the 02 housing geting in the way...but i talked to my g/f and shes going to bring me the camera while im at work so eaither on my lunch break or when i get out of work ill take the pic and upload it if i can figure out how LOL

ill post a pic some time tomrrow just keep in mind its not in the car yet

ok LOL i got to love the g/f she droped off the camera for me like she promised but forgot the cable so i cant upload them to the computer LOL im going to have to do it tomrrow night when i go to her house one more question where should the tube to be point to anyway?

ok ive got the pics but i need to upload them and resize them what program should i use to resize them ?

Wow im stumped man
I have never seen that o2 housing in my life.
What size outlet is that?
also can you take one more pic and upload it?
A side shot that shows the 02 housing with the gate so I can see how its going to hit it.
Do you have another manifold you can get an ext. gate on?
Thats your only choice. You dont want to route it up then back down. Its not going to work

wait a sec cant i just buy another flange and weld a small pipe on that and connect it to the manifold so i can point it down and then another flange for the gate?

Ok you saw where the flange is on the manifold what if i put a pipe on the manifold flange have it bent to where the wastegate would clear everything then bolt the gate onto that pipe and then one more pipe from the dump port of the gate past the radator

Ok Im going to say its possible.
IDK for sure though because I have never heard of anyone doing that.
Do you have room to put a little piece of pipe from the dump
port down then do a mandrel bendaway from the o2 housing?
If you can do that that is what I would suggest or getting a cheap 2g mani
off of ebay and getting another wastegate flange welded on it :thumb:
That piece of pipe would have to be able to support the hanging weight
of the wastegate if you do it the other way. Its up to you. You can always
try it then fix it if it doesnt work. It really sucks that the flange got welded on in the wrong spot

well the flange where it is would of worked if i still had the stock 02 housing like i did when this project started but hey crap happens im going to try going with a bend up then down it will work as long as i have enough room for the bend i should i can bolt the wastegate on pointing down but when you try to bolt the other flange on FORGET IT not enough room o well
