I have a PTE 50 trim, and have a question about the oil feed line. I am feeding from the oil filter housing, and have routed the braided line behind the turbo (between the block and the turbo) and was wondering if that could cause any problems. I think it looks clean, but it does come into contact with the water pipe a little bit, and I have noticed that most people route it out more near the fans. Thanks for any input.

Also off topic, I would post a picture, but for some reason photobucket doesn't like me. I can see all my photos in my gallery, but when i click on one to enlarge it all I see is the red X. Does anyone know why this is happening (it's happening with all my pictures).

I routed mine behind too, but haven't ran the car like that yet. I double-ziptied it in 2 places to the hard coolant line that goes to the oil cooler. That keeps it from rubbing on anything.

As long as it's not directly rubbing the manifold or downpipe (heating the line, possibly heating the oil), I can't see where it would be a problem.

If that PTE starts burning oil on you, install a restrictor (.062" or .078"...don't use the .030" ball-bearing restrictor) in the line before it's too late and you roast the journal bearings. There doesn't seem to be consistency in these PTE turbos failing when they're sourced from the filter housing....some guys can't keep them together with a totally stock motor (balance shafts installed), some guys are running them without balance shafts or the pressure relief mod, and they're boosting fine. Just keep it in the back of your mind.

Regarding the "Red X" on some photos- my laptop does the same damn thing, but ONLY when it's running Internet Explorer. AOL's brower loads all photos, so does Firefox. I tried upgrading to the newest version of I.E., and that did nothing. I Googled the topic and it turns out there's some issue with the registry and how some files are read by I.E. (for example, .jpg's vs .jpeg's), so I proceeded to follow the repair instruction given by some programmer....the problem's still there. I gave up and switched to Firefox full-time.

You were right I tried it at home on my laptop where I run Google chrome, and I can work with photo bucket just fine. I was at work earlier this morning when I asked the question. I'll put up a picture and since this is my first build let me know if anything looks out of place, but the picture is mostly for the oil feed line.

I personally route it in the back because if I route it in the front, it literally intersects the dump tube for the WG. If I was recirculated, I would run it in the front. Air flows more around it.

Well that's reassuring to hear that it's ok to run it behind as long as it doesn't come into contact with exhaust parts. When we were routing it we agreed that it shouldn't be a problem but when I looked at pictures of some member's engine bays I saw that a lot were run in front so I had to ask.
