Ok I ordered a SS feed line with fittings to go from the stock location to my new Evo 16G turbo but thing is the line is REAL long, it's ment for going somewhere over where the oil filter houseing is to the turbo.

Not sure where you get a source from over there, what fitting I need and the other reasion why?

Why do some people run lines from wherever it is over there to the turbo vs the stock location?

2g cars use the stock oil feed, which comes off the oil filter/cooler housing. There are shorter lines you can buy.

Here's a pic of where the SS feed line goes on a 2g:

Here are two pages on SBR for SS feed lines. On it, they explain the different lengths they recommend for taking oil from the head and from the oil filter housing. You probably ended up with the 24 inch version.

Linkage 1
Linkage 2

Hope this helps.

I ordered it from diamondstarmotorsports. I assumed since I ordered the banjo ends for stock locations it would be the right length. Duno if thats my slip up or theres.

Anyway It's to long to use from head to turbo, so im trying to figure out if I can use it from the location you have in the pic on that 2G on a 1g or if I had to cut the thing and find some new ends for it.

holy shit the price for the SBR lines are waaay lower... wish I had seen that a few weeks ago. Oh well these are good lines reall nice quality just to damn long LOL.

Sell the longer one in the classifieds or hold onto it till a friend with a 2g needs one. Then buy the SBR line.

It will actually be the same length for both and you can tap there for the 1g. Better oil pressure coming from the filter housing than the head.

Well if all I need is a bango bolt or something for the filter houseing i'll just run it from there. But could someone post a pic of where & or how you tap it?

I just did. That stainless steel line in the pic I posted is where the oil filter housing feed port is. I'm not sure if all 1g's had this style of oil feed housing, though.

If you are looking at your oil filter housing as in the pic above, there will be 2 allen head plugs. Pull the one that has the elbow for the feed line in the pic, t5ake it to the hardware store, and they will hook you up with the proper thread and size elbow to run the line. Probably cost a buck or so.
Mike

I can answer the size of the elbow. It's a -4AN to 3/8" NPT, available here for more information. However, if the SS line ends are set up for banjo bolts, the banjo eyelets have to come out for this elbow to go on.

If you make it work from the oil filter housing, make SURE you keep the line away from your exhaust, ziptie it "loosely" to a fan leg or anything that will keep it away. You don't want to have one of those lines burn up on you.
