External Wastegate broken??

So i just got my car back from the shop because I had them install a new manifold external wastegate and turbo because I simply did not have the time to do it myself. I drove it around all weekend breaking the turbo in and everything was FINE N DANDY.. so i decided to take it up to school with me and i was just accelerating to pass a few cars and i realized i went from the set boost which was 10psi to 15psi which is way more then i want my engine to deal with, and i could no longer hear the wastegate. I pulled over and all the vacuum lines were attached and fine. The boost controller was still set in the same position. Any ideas?

Do you have pictures or a diagram of how your wastegate is hooked up. you should be able to add compressed air to your wastegate to get it to open. The shop may have hooked something up wrong.

the lines are set up connecting to the primary control port (which is on the back of the wastegate) to the MBC to the turbo.. is it more efficient to use both the primary and secondary(top of wastegate) control ports? i just dont understand how it was working great all weekend n then all the sudden just fails on me

Then why do you have a boost controller?

Remove the boost controller and run a straight line from your pressure source to the wastegate and let the wastegate control the boost. See if that works, then go from there.

As stated above, remove your
Boost controller. You want 10psi, you have a 11psi spring in your gate. Run what your gate spring pressure is. If your spring is 11.6 psi your lowest boost you can run is that spring pressure, so 10 psi is not attainable. Run a Line from your boost source to one of the lower ports on your gate, block off all remaining ports and leave the port on top of the Gate open. You should then be running your 11psi that your spring is.
