97 talon tsi i purchased a full 3" exhaust but it wont bolt up to the stock downpipe,i thought it was all bolt on? is there a special downpipe needed?

if you bought a full exhaust system, it should have come with a downpipe which then bolts to your o2 housing - if you mean you bought a catback system, it will bolt to your catalytic converter - please clarify exactly what you purchased and what brand

i bought it used no brand name on it......=( i assumed it bolted right to the stock downpipe but it doesnt....how can i aproach this situation

You mentioned the stock downpipe so the new system must be a catback. It sounds like you may be missing the catalytic converter which goes after the DP. Or some guys run a race pipe (although it is not road legal).

Does your new system neck down to a smaller diameter at the end that you are trying to connect to the DP/cat?

ok i found the solution.......the actual downpipe has wider openings to move the studs,im going to just get weldedover to line up the stud to the exhaust....thanks everyone for your replys...highly apreciated:thumb::thumb:
