All right, I am trying to figure out how to get 3" exhaust without being overly loud and still be fairly legal with good performance and stock looking.
I have bought the 2.5" - 3" Megan Racing Stainless Steel downpipe which eliminates the Cat. Which is fine, but I am thinking of having it cut and puting a 3" high flow cat put in where it was eliminated. Then I am thinking of getting the 3" Stainless Steel tubing kit from VRS Exhaust which will feed into a 3"/2.5" dual tip Magnaflo Stainless Steel muffler #14221. Anyone have experience with the VRS tubing? Is this fairly do able for the muffler shop to do, i.e cut the Downpipe, weld the 3" flange from the cut end of the Downpipe, cut and weld the hangers from the Downpipe onto the cat, weld on the muffler to the tubing and bolt it all together? Any guesses on the cost of labor?
Megan Racing Downpipe: ~$122 includes shipping
VRS Tubing: ~$245 includes shipping
3" High Flow Cat: ~$110 includes shipping
Magnaflow Muffler: ~$113 includes shipping
Total: ~$590 shipped to my door
Anyone done something like this with the VRS Tubing? This should sound fairly quite with "decent" flow and a few horses in power gain. And at the same time still be fully street legal and look kinda stock. And comments suggestions?
