I have a new performance header, new flex pipe, new performance catalytic converter, and an "old" performance muffler. I need to replace the muffler now and I want something deep and NOT tinny in the upper RPMs.

Also, can someone explain why I would want or wouldn't want a resonator with my setup??

Resonators are mainly used to soften the exhaust note. If you live in an area where aftermarket exhausts themselves aren't illegal, but loud ones are, you might consider a resonator. Otherwise, ditch the idea -- they don't help performance-wise.
