exhaust pipe

Whats the main differences in the different types of pipe used for exhausts? a local shop quoted me 200 for a turbo back made out of 14ga aluminized pipe. Would this have any downsides? i know most big name brand exhausts are mandrel bent or somethin like that right?

Yes, because an exhaust shop will crush bend it to make the angles.. Madrel bends are expensive, and it all need to be welded together, and thats why the price reflects that on more expensive exhausts. Crush bend reduces the inner diameter of the pipe and restricts flow.

The aluminized pipe will be more prone to rusting as opposed to stainless steel.

There is nothing wrong with having a shop build you an exhaust system. I also don't think you need to worry a whole lot about rust. What size is the exhaust? You can ask about mandrel bends, some shops do it or order bends already made to put together their exhaust systems.

IMO $200 is a good deal. It is hard to put an ebay turboback together for that price (though they are stainless steel and mandrel bent).

it was quoted for a 2.5 inch exhaust from the turbo back.
