Ok so I am going to purchase an exhaust for my car 1990 Plymouth Laser RS. I want to get a turbo back 3", not for looks I have better mods coming this summer and I want to save money. So the only one I could find for the fwd is a VRS system, is that a legit system? Or can someone point in the direction of a better one. Another question is SS or aluminized?

If you can afford it, definitely get SS because Aluminized will rust over time. VRS is a good system and I have seen it on a few 1st gens up at my local lot. I would definitely just piece together parts though, get a downpipe and O2 housing from oneplace and a cat-back from another. I will be doing the Megan Racing 3" downpipe and O2 housing and a cat-back from elsewhere. It seems to be a lot cheaper going that rout plus you get to find the muffler that looks best and you want on your car and don't have to stick with VRS styling. Megan Racing Downpipe (eliminates Cat of course :) ) = 144.99, Apexi N1 Cat-back = 529.00(not the cheapest cat-back either) VRS SS turboback 3" = $800. Check out extremepsi.com and mix and match.

You won't have the same issues with rust-out in Reno as they will in Cleveland. Aluminized will outlast the car. Stainless is better, but for this application in your area, it's wasted money.

How do you know that the aluminized wont rust? And why is SS better?

What he was saying is that aluminuzed will last quite a long time in an arid (dry) climate and it costs a lot less that SS. It's also much easier to weld aluminized than SS (might have a bit of a problem finding someone who will weld SS let alone fit the parts together *and* weld). If you get enough snow/slush conditions in Reno, maybe SS is a better choice, but if you rarely drive in the wet and humidity is usually low, SS might be overkill. SS will not rust period, so it's better in that regard.

So if you live in Michigan, you probably want SS. If you live in Tucson, AZ, you could live with aluminized steel. But if you move from Tucson to Detroit, the aluminized won't last too long.

California only uses grit on the snow, no salt. I don't think they salt Reno, but I'm not sure. "Aluminizing" is a higher-temperature version of galvanizing, which uses zinc. When corrosion tries to get a start, the coating fights it enough to essentially neutralize it.
