So, I'm thinking now is a good time to get an exhaust system (following the tech guide from here). There's a Megan Racing 3" catback I may be interested in. Anyone have good or bad feedback on them? The youtube videos I've seen of them sound nice. But my question is if I will need to tune my car with DSMlink or something. I once read that if I were to just throw a 3" cat-back on it would hurt performance compared to the stock exhaust I currently have.

Any aftermarket exhaust bigger then stock will be an upgrade. As long as it has a bung for the rear o2 sensor you'll be o.k. Without a rear o2 downstream of the cat it'll throw a code. I don't have experience with their cat-back but I had the ebay SRS branded cat-back with the cannon muffler and there is definitely a noise difference

If your profile is correct and your adding a cat back you do not need anything additional.Look at the srs exhaust as well I think there cheaper than megans.Theres plently of reviews on those good and bad.Sometimes megans also require a flange thats off by a sizable degree.

But on your 98/99 ecu,it can be flashed. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/evo...first-flashed-dsm-ecu-98-99-flashing-faq.html

Good luck :thumb:

I'm not sure I like the sound of the SRS, too fartish... I do have a spyder so I really don't want to hear the dang thing all the time. I was wanting something thats somewhat quit while driving, but sounds pissed off when I get on it. The megan seems to do pretty much that for the cost at least. I believe the guy I'm thinking about buying it from has had it on his gst, Ill ask him if he ever had any fitment issues, and also the rear o2 bung. Thanks guys:thumb:
