exaust mani's

So I am going to be buying a exaust manifold soon but I have a few options,

ebay tubular mani's (that i can weld support brackets on) and use heat wrap
-$130ish

or the FP race mani - but i hear exaust temps will limit how much hp it give you.


Is going ebay worth the money i will save, about $200

anyways what will work better for a e316g because i will also be picking that up too.

Why pay $300 for a ported stocker? Which is basically what the fp is. Are there some flow charts comparing ported stock vs fp? I guess im missing something.

The FP has a better collector design with how the runners meet if I am not mistaken.

I rock a ported 2g manifold, because it was free, just add some free time+porting. My 2g has a few small cracks, but seal up when the manifold gets hot.

I guess im just cheap, but the ebay works great, like i was saying i got one for $60. The ports had been touched up, very smooth, fit great and looks pretty good.

i would go with ported evo headers! i went that way and i havent been let down yet by the. but if not that the definatily go with FP the are very reliable when it comes to dsm parts

i wish people would give the product on ebay a chance cause i promise you wont be disappointed. i would spent the money on a ebay mani rather then spend 200 extra dollars on a name. look at HKS the price of there part are dropping and that a good thing.

I was reading about heat wrap today, and it can plausibly add a couple horse.
Because the heat coming off of the header is just energy that is leaving the exhaust gasses, so if the manifold can't give off as much heat, because it's heatwrapped, then the hotter, more energetic exhaust gasses will spool the turbo quicker and can build more boost.

This is what I have heard also. The more Heat you keep inside the Hot side the better.

avoid ebay one my buddy has one on his 1g and in less than 3000 miles it cracked. and it gave off ALOT of heat

Did he have it wrapped? and which style was it?
