I was looking at Evo tuning.. I was bored... and I stumbled across something that they use a lot as a logger. It is called EvoScan. I went on the web site: http://www.limitless.co.nz/#SupportedVehicles, and it actually says it works with our cars too and any mitsubishi up from 94 using the "MUT/MUT-II/MUT-III protocol" for the logging... This logger logs everything including knock sum.. would it be possible that because this logger uses the Mitsubishi protocol and not the generic obd protocol that it can log things that the other generic obd2 loggers can't?

Well, it shouldn't have been a waste of money, as 2.2 should be out very soon, and it claims to work w/ 2.2. I'm waiting for 2.2, then I'll try it out, but thanks for biting the bullet for us 95 dudes!!

and if you would have read post 195 and 196 he is running 2.2

Did anyone get the HP and TQ graphs to work. Mine says I have like 1 hp. If so what numbers did you use for the frontal area.

Look here at mine: <a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/8702/examplejc7gi5.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/></a><br/>

It works just not sure how accurate it is. True this was done on v2.0 and it works fine on 2.1.

Let me see about those numbers.

:dsm:

Edit: My baudrate is 15625.

Im using a 95 eprom ecu too... nothin seems to work,, my pal has a 96 eclipse, loggers and the evoscan doesnt work either...

reading from the net, and I think its true, that 95/96 DSms with the OBDII port is not 100% OBDII compliant. That's why most 95//96 DSMs wont log data with most dataloggers out there.

I wonder if the new 1.3 cable from evoscan works..

Someone emailed me saying that some 95 ecu's are JOBD (japanese)??

Please give an update so we guys with 95 eprom ecu can start logging:)

I'm going to order this today but I'm a little confused on which cable to use. 98 GST, should I get the

"EvoScan HighSpeed Mitsubishi/Subaru USB Datalogging Cable
(also known as OpenPort 1.3U Cable)
Datalogging and ECUFlash Reprogramming Cable.
High quality and high performance 12pin + 16pin datalogger/reflash cable, capable of extreme high speeds.
Perfect for EvoScan, StiScan, EcuFlash, OBDII software.
Specifically supports 1994-2007 Mitsubishi vehicles for EFI, AYC and ABS systems. Bonus! allows reprogramming of Subaru WRX/Sti ECUs and Mitsubishi Evo factory ecus via EcuFlash (included reflash connector) Also Supports 1999-2007 Subaru SSM-II vehicles for datalogging.
"

or the "EvoScan 2006+ Mitsubishi/Subaru ELM327 CAN Protocol USB Cable
High quality and high performance datalogger cable, capable of extreme high speeds.
Perfect for EvoScan, and supports all U.S. OBDII vehicles since 1996-2007, and all elm327 software. Includes support for CANBUS vehicles
For vehicles such as DSM/Subaru/Mitsubishi/3000GT I would highly recommend using the specialised Datalogger/Reflashing cable below."

I noticed this in the EvoScan website (EvoScan OBDII Mitsubishi MUTII DataLogger Scantool)...

10% Group Buy Discounts Available for 5 or more cables.
15% Group Buy Discounts Available for 10 or more cables.

...so why haven't we put together a group buy? I'm sure we could get 10 people to put in an order at once. Saves about $12.

Just ordered it. Interesting to find out what kinda power my evoIII 16g is putting down. Any idea on how accurate the numbers are for torque and hp?

Pls post a review once you've had a chance to use it...I'm in the market for an OBD2 solution for my 2G. Thx. :dsm:

If someone can tell me the pin layout I can make these cables for almost $10-$20 bucks each.

I need to know what USB Wire goes where inside the OBD/II Connector. If anyone is willing to take their OBD/II plug apart and trace which wire goes to which pin, and if there are any resistors inside the plug that would help. I have made data cables before for other products and it really does help/save a lot of money!!

If anyone is interested in working with me on getting this info I would be very great-full !!!

There's gotta be a diagram somewhere out there. It'd be sweet to have the much cheaper cables.

There are two controller chips and other misc circuits that sit between the OBDII connector and the USB connector.

The interpreter chip is made by these guys ELM Electronics in the EL323/327 flavors. The RS232/serial data from the ELM chip is converted to USB by someone like these guys Mixed-Signal ICs - USB to UART Bridge. There is a small amount of software that has to be written to program the Silabs controller (usually the reference design contains enough code). These guys provide a reference schematic for RS232/Serial port comm http://www.scantool.net/download/elmiso11.pdf

Unfortunately its not as simply as crossing wires from connector to connector

Hmm, looks like a single USB to UART Adapter.

Something like this should do the trick. $8-12 alone for this, then make the module for the ECM and the EvoScan program will do the rest.
