EVOIII 16G welp bought it:: 0-60 times?

You will need a fmic to have any prolonged fun with this turbo. A sprayer might help a little but not much.

I wouldn't reccomend much more than 15-16psi on a stock smic even with upgraded piping and a sprayer. But if I were you I would skip all that and do a budget fmic setup unless you have the funds for a big name kit. I use a cheap Ebay core and I made my own pipes for a total investment of 300-350 bucks.
 
did i mention hes porting my manifold and o2 housing as well as installing it? including the turbo for 650$ i think its a steal
 
0-60mph times are anywhere between 3.75-4.00 depending on how well I hook up off the line. I am currently running on 18's with street tires. That will change next year though. :D
 
I've heard of issues with the 34mm flapper popping open as well. I had major creep issues with my e16g so I took it off and brought it in to TRE to have the flapper installed.

After talking to Jon and Ming for awhile, they ended up just porting out the wastegate path a bit. Then I ground off part of the housing so the flapper door would open a full 90*. Since then, I have had 0 creep issues what-so-ever; I even drove around at the stock 9lbs and it held it rock solid 'till redline.

Aside from that minor difficulty, it has been an absolutely wonderful turbo. I get full boost by about 2500rpms and I get a decent amount almost instantly when you are on the throttle. VERY streetable.

I've been debating about upgrading to a 50-trim, but I just can't bare to get rid of my evo :thumb:

Well it looks like your planning on running higher boost with this turbo, I would say don't until you replace that stock side mount ic. I did have the HRC upgraded side mount intercooler and even with that if I did a long run I would see some knock (I didn't bother to make up a new shroud which would help out abit) and that was @ 18 or 19 psi. If you want to run some niceboost with this turbo defently get a fmic.
 
i might have to end up buying a 20g after a couple thousand miles on this 16g because there are like fordgt's and noble m12's and turbo porsche gt3's and new vipers rollin around prospect where i live and i wanna put a goofy look on their faces ;)

That'd be too easy for me. I'd easily get 400 out of a 20g or 50trim but I want to push the EVO to the max, anything over 400 and then I'll :)
 
400 whp is possible on the evoIII but is going to take alot of boost and pretty much every bolt on, including a fmic, cams & a smim. Not to say it can't be done, just saying it would be alot easier with a 20g or 50 trim :thumb:
