I posted in another thread that my timing belt broke
so i took the head off and the valves are bent and the pistons have dents from the valves in them
so i am thinking i need to replace the head or rebuild it and also redo the pistons
i have heard of people using the new pistons for an evo 8 in DSMs
will they work in my 2g

basically what i plan to do is rebuild and turn up boost to about 15
so i will upgrade the fuel and air supply but i was wondering if the pistons will work or if i should go a different route

The Evo 8 pistons have a different pin offset and will not work with DSM engines.

If your in the mood for rebuilding I would say get yourself a 6 bolt block and use toplines rebuild kit and junk the 7 bolt bottom end. Topline products have gotten mixed reviews but I have had good luck with them. 15 psi is where the fun stops with the T25 (I am just assuming you have a T25) and that rebuild should handle that for 100K+ miles.

yes i have a t25 still
i have read that it wont do me much good to upgrade the pistons if i dont plan to hit near 20 psi or 400hp

so wouldnt it be cheaper to just get stockers and rebuild it?

i really dont want to spend a lot of money to rebuild a new block. I know i could go ahead and do a 6 bolt for more durability but i have to stay on a budget

i am getting a 2g ported and polished head so i am sticking to a 2g head.

Would it be benefitial to do the 6 bolt with a 2G head vs the cost? I really need to save some money but i want quality so i dont have to rebuild again down the line
