I found a fresh rebuilt 20g i think its the td05. Its only 400 bucks.. Im wondering if with the mods i have will i be able to run this turbo safe and be able to notice a nice gain in HP.. Any input or info reguarding this will be much much appreciated... I been stuck not knowing what to do.. thanks guys

Eric

Injectors need to go up. And yes considering most people don't get the most out of every turbo the 20g will bring more horsepower, but longer spool time.

A td05 20g isn't worth it over an e316g. I have an td05 20g which replaced a sbr e316g, it pulls a little harder up top at the expense of quick spool which I had with the 16g. Compressor wheel is larger but the turbine wheel is the same as a 14b or 16g and it doesn't keep up with the flow potential of the comp wheel.

To each thier own. I am going to convert to a Holset setup soon, but owning and going from a T-25, then T-28, then Small 16G, then Evo 3 Big 16G, and now a Super 20G, its a different ball game. The Super 20G is on the same level as the E3, but its so much more. More CFMs + better VE = more power, not just fuel. Tuning is a big part yes, but is this for a street car or drag car? People are not very reasonable when it comes to thier goals, so take it step by step, and mod by mod, do it right, and you'll be better off. I went with the turbo upgrade and never looked back. So is an E3 worth changing to a 20G? That's a yes in my book, but these are not the only turbo/supercharged cars I own.

basically its all depending on what ## goals are
quicker spool with okay top end
or
slower spool and more up top
and what are your hp goals?

My goal is to put down over 300hp.. I put down 265 on fftec's mustang dyno.. not sure what it would be on a dyna jet or pack though.. but i dont mind the slower spool. I would like that so i dont spin as fast since im a 1 legger  but ya.. im looking for something that will jus give me a little more top end pull than my 16g.. i would be happy with even 15 to 25 more hp out of it..

I completly agree on taking it step by step.. When i first got my dsm i just rushed into turnig up the boost to go fast.. here i am 3 motors later.. much more wise in the dsm world.. i have done everything slow and right.. even got my dsmlink and got it tuned. it runs very strong right now.. I dont want to drag race the car out.. want a nice street car.. jus need a lil more than the 16g which came the 20g cause of the price.. been thinking hard about it.. and needed some fellow dsmers help :thumb:

Thanks man

I've had a td06 20G and loved it but if I were you depending on your gaols I would go even bigger such as a 50 trim.

Ya i know what you mean.. i mean i was looking at the t04b 50 trim from bullseye.. but Im not to sure i wanna go that big.. maybe in the long run.. but i need just a lil more power than my 16g to get me to where i can jus leave it alone for a while.. and save up for other stuff.. Im just debating if its gonna be enough.. thanks for the replies..

Has anyone else had experience with switching over from an evo3 16g to a 20g?? thanks alot guys.. Its much appreciated.

Eric

Ok here is the deal guys... I was looking at paying 650 for a used tdo5 20g.. Now i been lookin around and found a great deal(150 bucks cheaper :thumb:) on a brand new never installed SBR G50 50 trim.. So would this turbo be a good turbo if installed correctly and oiled correctly and turbo timed every time i shut it off LOL
Here is a picture of it.. ill try to get more also...

I have read every post on them.. guess we will see... im feeling very confident about it..
what you guys think???? any input reguarding this turbo will be much appreciated :thumb:
