I am not sure if i have an EVO III TB and IM on my car or a 2G. I recently had an EVO III motor put it and i am hoping the guy didnt screw me out of the Intake manifold because i have heard that is the biggest difference between the two motors. if any one has pictures of the EVO III TB and IM, and pictures of the 2G TB and IM i will compare them with mine.

i have been able to find this picture which i think its a EVO III but im not sure.. i have not been able to find any pictures of a 2G intake manifold.

i have one more question, when i install it will i have to worry about the check engine light coming on?

I was using an evo8 ecu already when I installed it but there was no change for me.

Others have installed it with no issues, read the thread on it. It sounds like if you use it then you just remove the MDP sensor and it will throw a code but it wont make the CEL come on.

im trying to compare my intake manifold with pictues of the Evo III and i cant notice a differenece. Can someone tell me the differences or put two pictures next to each other and mark the differences.

Sorry if i am being annoying i am just trying to learn as much as i can about these cars.

Internally they are identical. mitsubishi made a single part and then modified it to meet several needs. The "stock" casting for an RVR and and evo 1-3 are the same part. when it will be used on an evo they maching the TB port to 60mm and add a small vacum port on the (US)drivers side. All other ports are the same. And to the guy that got the IM from a dealership, you were lucky enough to get a very rare part. the elusive evo1-3 coil pack.
