Ok, I am ordering a EVO III 16g and I have a Walbro 190LPH with rewire kit, Intake, and Turboback exhaust and I would like to know can I run 14psi safely on the stock sidemount and injectors until I can get a Frontmount and 650's with DSMlink. Basically I know the Sidemounts heaksoak easy but at 14psi I hope I can get away with it for a month or 2. Let me know. Derek

Ok, thats good. I want to run about 14psi with my setup for awhile but I dont want to heatsoak and knock then pull timing. What I have read is some people say stay under 15psi and other say oh i ran 18psi its fine but so I was just curious. If any other people have any experience let me know. Thank you.

My buddy ran 15 to 18 on a daily driven car w/ a stock side mount..

The 15-18 was cause of spikes but other than that no problems until his manual boost controler blew apart (homemade) and he ran about 25-30 lbs and blew the sparkplug apart and bent some valves.. this is why im staying away from homemade boost controlers

Yes it is fully ported with a 34mm wastegate flapper and the it is ported so the wastegate opens all the way. It should stay at 14 or 15 and not creep. I just want to stay with the stock sidemount for now at about 14-15 psi until I get money for an AGP Frontmount. Im moving to Seattle and it is always humid and around 60degrees so I should be fine at 14-15 psi. Anybody have experience with Dejon modified stock Sidemount and will it work with my stock lower intercooler pipe and is it worth the $135. Thanks, Derek

You should be able to do it. I ran 18 psi on an upgraded HRC sidemount and while I could get away with it, it wasn't that fun :D . Would sometimes knock in 3rd or 4th. Once I installed my fmic it felt like a new car, I was actually surprised with the difference it made both in power and airflow.

Ok thats good to hear. I plan on the AGP Frontmount, Denso 660's, DSMlink, HKS 264 cams and about 20-22psi of boost but I need to save more money and the injectors and frontmount bump me up in class in SCCA so I dont know. I think I might just focus on road racing since the mods I want to do put me up against like corvettes and porches and that might not be no fun. So I think I will wait for all those parts until this summer. I have yet to install my EVO III so I will see how it feels at 15psi then decide if ill keep my sidemount or not. So tell me what you guys think, stay with just the sidemount for now or go all out and not worry what class im in for autocross. Derek

I had the same turbo and ran it at 14 psi with stock everything until i got my greddy FMIC, fuel system and dsmlink. I ran like that for a month with no problems at all.

Really, how big of a difference was it from the T25, I have hear its like night and day. I have all the main bolt ons and the T2small is not cuttin it, so I cant wait until I can install it.

Going from the t25 to just about anything is like night and day LOL. When I first installed it I broke it in for about 150 miles and then only boosted 9psi for the next 200 miles or so. At 9 psi it felt just as strong as the t25 at 14psi. I turned it up as much as I could while still being within limits of stock fuel til i got the upgrades and it worked fine. Im not sure how long it will work tho only because I only ran like that for a month.

Well I think I should be fine, I have a rewired Walbro 190, Turboback Exhaust, Intake, and Ported Manifold and o2 running right now at 15psi on the T25 and it fine so I am thinking 14psi on a EVO III should be alright for awhile with my mods.

Yes the difference between the t25 and evoIII is night & day. At first I was hitting the rev limiter in 1st & 2nd once I installed the evoIII where as with the t25 your looking at the tach thinking is this thing ever going to hit redline & you shift at 6500 because thats where it stops pulling. T25 felt good from 2500 to about 5000 where the evoIII feels good from 3000 or so to 7500. If you want the most out of defently go fmic, like I said I thought the upgraded smic was fine but switching to a fmic was a huge difference @ 18 psi.

2bclutch- Was wondeing why you are going with the Greddy fmic kit? There are a tonn of better choices out there. If I was looking for a fmic I think it would be my last choice. Small diameter pipeing, extra long route (actually longer then factory pipeing), tube & fin core (not as efficient as bar/plate) & they seem to get damaged fairly easily. Plus there expensive for what your getting. If I was to recommend a core I'd go with the victory performance super street kit. Its abit more at $1000 but you defently get what you pay for.

Yea definately what daren said, I dont think I would go for the Greddy. From what I have read and looked at the AGP and SBR frontmount are about $850 and they come with nice short route piping and are big Spearco cores so thats what I'm probably going for. But daren I can totally relate to the T25 and watching the tach and wondering when it will reach redline, I think it goes slower the higher you go ROFL I cant wait to put on my EVO III now, hitting rev limiter from all that power :sneaky: I might like that.

I ran my Evo3 on a HRC sidemount just fine for about a year at 17-18psi. Every once in awhile I'd pop off an intercooler pipe.(hairspray fixed)
