Evo III 16G ?

Hey Guys, am a new member but i have read tons of threads and cant find the answer to this question. I drive a 98 GST am installing a EVO III 16G turbo to my car, because my factory turbo has blown sky high, i dont have the money to buy all the upgrades i know i need. I can only by 1 big part every two weeks, money issues. So my question is can i run this turbo on my car without upgrading anything for about a month or 2 with out hurting my brand new engine or my brand new turbo. Also i know the upgrades i need but what is the best order to buy and install them. I know i need 550 injectors, 255 fuel pump, front mount intercooler, S-AFC II fuel computer . I was told the best way to go about it is, the fuel pump, and S-AFC, first, then build from there. My car has been under the knife for about a year i just bought a new engine because i blew the the engine at the same time as the turbo. So please guys let me hear it.

I have the evo and I dont have any of those upgrades except the walbro 255 and an afpr. I would just say to keep the boost down around stock.

You do not need a Front mount, and if you want to run high boost then you should upgrade, but its not a necessity. Second, when you buy a 255 fuel pump, you will also need a Fuel pressure regulator. Injectors and a SAFC would be a good investment, I would buy the parts in this order: 255 fuel pump, FPR, SAFC, Injectors. For your car to run the way its supposed to and not too rich, the fuel pump and the FPR will need to be installed together. Also, with JUST that turbo, I wouldnt run over 10 psi of boost, just because you havent upgraded the fuel system yet in order to keep up with that turbo.

If you have only the turbo on then just run the boost setting as low as possoble meaning the 10 or so punds the actuator will apply, nothing more.

Unless you plan on upgrading the turbo a 190 fuel pump would be plenty and you wouldn't need the FPR.

yes, you can run it on stock fuel and intercooler without hurting the engine or anything else just make sure you don't go above 12-15psi.

Stock intercoolers of both generations flow poorly compaired to a decent front mout. This creates a pressure differential. Therefore the turbo spins at a higher speed to maintain a particular boost level in the intake manifold... This can put undue wear on the turbo, heat the air unnecessarily (requiring more injection), and, if running on the edge, this can put you right off the compressor map.

I am not negating water/alky injection. My car literally lives by it. But There are ither advantages to an itercooler than just lowering intake temps... BTW, if the intercooler does a good job, there's just that much more you can get away with in your tune.
