Evolution 9's came with Mivec which is not compatible with our standard non-variable valve timing motors.

The IX exhaust cam is the same as the VIII, only the intake cam is different on the IX because of the MIVEC. They are a moderate upgrade from a stock DSM cam. They're hollow so they're 1.1lbs lighter per cam, that alone will free up a bit of power. It will drop right into a DSM head, the only difference is you'll have to degree it. Neither the EVO nor DSM cam gear marks will get you even close. I've got a set of VIII cams in my mock-up engine with a set of stock gears marked, I can grab a pic of where you need to put them. If you're going to the trouble to install it, you might as well find a VIII intake cam too. you will need to notch the end for the CAS though, since the EVO CAS is on the exhaust side.

Look, anything can be done with enough know how. Even if the cams are 180 degrees out, anyone with a little bit of machining knowledge can fix that. I would listen to the guy who has actually done this.

thanks steve thats what i wantedto know.i can get both for freei just figured i would only use the exhauts cause the intake is mivec. i know they are 180 out . pics would be most appriciated

thanks i knew someonewould have done this by now

Here's a pic of how to line up the exhaust cam gear using a stock 1G gear. Count 10 teeth clockwise from the stock notch and make a new mark and line it up like usual.
