Resolved Evo 8 wheel in 2g air bag switch?

I've been searching the forums for a while now trying to get a good answer for this.

I recently picked up an Evo 8 steering wheel and have followed the DIY. Welding it to a 1g hub so it will bolt right up to my 2g column.

I also was able to get the air bag connector from the car side of the Evo harness.
My question is: Is it a possibility to cut and solder/splice this connector into my current 2g harness? So that I will have a working airbag once the Evo wheel is hooked up.

My main concern is setting the airbag off for some reason because the connector doesn't "comply" with the harness.
Any advice would be appreciated!

As long as the wires are wired properly, and there's no extras left hanging, you shouldn't have any issues. Also when soldering the wire, keep the battery unplugged. The only way your airbag will go off, is if there's a direct signal from an electrical source. Or, you can simply reach up under the dash on the passenger side, and unplug the airbag from the harness. That's your sure way of not setting it off.
