My clutch safety switch is plugged in but I can start the car without pressing the clutch and occasionally it'll make me have to press the clutch to start the car. Does anybody know what could be the issue or places to look at and check? Still pretty new to working on cars.

Look at where the switch needle contacts the pedal assembly. I can't remember exactly how it is on a 2g, but I know it's a common problem for Hondas when the rubber insert falls apart and no longer presses the needle.
