Since we don't have the flow specs of the EVO 8 with it's twin-scroll technology, can we theorize on which turbo gives more power for the street on pump gas? Which one will more than likely spool faster and give more consistant times? Why do people prefer the B16g over the 20g?

Thanks,

16G turbos (whether Big or not) are usually cheaper and easier to install for most DSM people. They bolt on to 1G's and just need an install kit for 2G's.

20G's tend to be a lot more expensive, are usually better with an external wastegate (more $$$) and require some custom piping in both G's. They also generally spool a little slower. People also think the only 20G worth having is the TD06H, and it takes a well sorted car to get the most out of one. That's why you see 16G's on so many cars.

The Evo8 engine is 180 degree opposite from ours, and so is its turbo. It is not a popular or viable uprgrade for a DSM. The Evo3 16G turbo is growing in popularity as the best street/strip bang for buck turbo available.

I understand the differences with the EVO 8 engine and the DSM motors. What I wanted to evaluate though is just the numbers. Assuming the EVO 8 turbo can be installed, we still don't know the flow characteristics of it. I would assume that they are better than the EVO III's but I could be wrong.

So is there a site that has flow maps for the 20g? I'm curious about it, actually. Also, does the 20g flow more than the EVO III 16g? At what psi?
