So this thread is about the Evo 3 manifold. Not the cyclone dual runner. I have the oppertunity to pick one or more up while im overseas here in NZ for very cheap.

I have read the other reads, but still have yet to find a clear answer. Will the Evo 3 intake manifold flow better and bolt right up?

I am under the impression that yes it will for my car being a 2g, i just want to make sure before i buy one.

Simple answer is YES...

But do try to get a coil pack bracket and transistor pack bracket as well....
Makes things that much cleaner and more of a factory look...

^^ I am getting a Evo 3 intake, because i can pick one up for $70 US max! I live in NZ currently and parts are everywhere for Evos. Im able to pick up a evo 3 exhaust mani for only $30 US.

That is why i will be getting a Evo3 intake and mani.

If parts are that cheap, buy as many coil packs and transisters with brackets as you can. I can't seem to find anyone who could get me one for less than 100 shipped. Seems a little over priced to me.

Pick it up. The RVR manifold is the same part but the inlet is at 53mm instead of 60mm and also short one nipple for pressure/vacuum. Buy them as there is a market for them here a d the evo3 exhaust mani is better as well.

nice deff pic them up i recently got what i think is an rvr manifold from my friend im looking forward to putting it on some day with a 1g throttle body

I don't know if it's worth it on a 16G or smaller, but for a bigger turbo it should help you out a little.

It is well worth it. It woke my Evo316g up on the top-end. Paired with the FP exhaust manifold, awesome difference. I did the RVR before the FP, so I could feel the affects of each separately. Very much a good investment.

It bolts right up, but you need to fab up a mount for you MAP sensor. A brass hose barb, JB weld, and some vacuum tubing make this an easy task. Yes it flows better. Below 3000 rpms its slightly weaker than the stock 2g, midrange you won't notice much of a difference IMHO, above 6000 rpms the difference is big. I can't say I lost anything below 5500 rpms per say as my midrange torque is so nasty I have to actually turn the boost down to save my transmission. Mostly the topend where they 16g would be dying is where this mod really helps. I think it makes sense to have upgraded cams as the pulse tuning of this intake manifold really works well with a midrange cam setup (i.e. HKS 264's).

I recommend a set of midrange cams, phenolic spacers, 63mm throttlebody and the EVO3/RVR intake manifold as they all complement each other. The FP exhaust manifold also really complements this setup as it really intensifies that 6000-7000 rpm range where a 16g is just dying.

Thanks guys (just found out my local friend back home has one, so he is going to give me a hand with it) on another note, i will be going to a 20g when i get home also. Cams are in the process.... im doing a full build.

Now what about a evo 1 manifold? Will it be the same as a evo 3 exhaust mani?
