do both the evo III and first gen 4g63t have variable valve timing? is there anywhere on the engine i could look to varify and evo III is in the car and not the stock 4g63?
Thanks guy.

? Variable valve what? You are confusing us with either Toyota or Honda. Or you heard about MiVEC but don't know what mitsu engines were produced with it.

The 4g63 in an Evolution III is the same 4g63 that you will find in a 1st generation Eclipse/Talon/Laser. Unless you think the valvecover, intake manifold and injectors are worth the purchase price of a 'jdm' motor.

doesn't it have a higher CR ratio and diff. turbo also?

Uh, they are the same engines. Same compression ratio, the turbo has nothing to do with the engine anyways.

Just to clarify for the original poster though, the turbocharger on an EVOIII is definitely different than our motors are stock.

1g - 7.8:1
2g - 8.5:1
Evo III - 8.7:1

Not long ago TurboTrix sold them, but I havent seen them on the new site. Its all about sales, you dont see them sold almost anywhere today because nobody bought them before.
