I dont think its hooked up right bought the car 3 weeks ago trying to see what i can do with it any help with it would be great its a 1997 eagle talon tsi awd well my problem is it wont hold boost i think they guy i bought it from might have been a little retarded and dont feel the need to push it hard untill i now its right well thanks for your time...

1. Proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation (Rule #5 above the reply box)

2. The Evo3 GT is a POS ebay turbo that is prone to failure and takes 2 seperate kits to rebuild it.

3. DO NOT tap the MBC off of the BOV. It's somewhat ok for temp. use, but not long term. You want to hook it up like so.

air travel --->

BOV/J-Pipe nipple/compressor cover nipple -->MBC-->Wastegate nipple

4. If you don't have upgraded fuel system and other supporting mods, DO NOT turn the boost up over 14 PSI on the new turbo and 15 PSI max on the T-25 on stock setup.

5. SEARCH before posting and that can't be stressed enough. DSM Forums - Search Forums

6. Follow the upgrade path Tech Guide: 2G 4G63t Upgrades - DSMtuners

Before worrying about power, do all required maintenance that you would do on any new car.

Full fluid change (coolant, oil [engine, tranny, transfer case, rear diff])
Full timing belt change
Boost leak test
NGK BPR6ES spark plugs
New wires
Fix anything that's broke and fix any CELs you have

Did you check for any shaft play on the turbo when you bought it and make sure the wastegate actuator is hooked up and functioning.

Well there is no shaft play and the wastegate actuator is on but this would be the part I don't understand

BOV/J-Pipe nipple/compressor cover nipple -->MBC-->Wastegate nipple

1. What's a MBC
2. Compressor cover nipple where is that located

MBC=Manual Boost Controller If you aren't going to use a boost contoller (manual or electronic), skip that spot.

IF you have a nipple on the compressor cover, that's the optimum place to use for a boost source, otherwise drill and tap onto the j-pipe or the lower IC piping if it's hard pipe.

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about,

that top port could I drill into that and tap into it or would it be better to go into the j-pipe?
