evo 3 16g, Frankenstein HELP

ok mainly the pictures will do the talking but I am in the middle of rebuilding my E16G and I guess I never paid attention to the center housing not being a MHI.
Upon further inspection:
1-the turbine housing is stamped with forceperformance logo (FP) on the gasket area.
2-the center housing has no coolant lines which I thought they were just plugged but as I was coating the outside with hi temp paint I noticed it was something else.

3- the center housing is dremeled with "JG FP8305" not sure if thats just who built it at the time or the version number. I tried searching for weeks and I find nothing about this so I need help identifying this center housing because the rubber o-ring that goes in there (in the center housing) needs replaced and the "16g" o-ring that would go in it (that came in GPOPSHOP's kit) is way too small, about 1/2 inch smaller in diameter.

I tried contacting FP but I have not received an answer so hopefully I can get some info from some of you old school experienced guys.

other info: the compressor is tdo5 01470, seems that the exhaust blades are clipped too.

J.G. are the initials of the builder/technician....of course FP = Forced Performance; 8/3/05 is the original build date.

Judging by the turbine clip and the oil-only center housing, I'm going to venture to say this is an 18G. You may confirm this by measuring the compressor inducer spec (18G = 1.98"/50.3mm)


Seems odd that the inner o-ring wouldn't fit....all TD05H/TD06 turbos use the same o-ring. Perhaps they mistakingly included an o-ring from a TD04 kit instead?

measurements check out to be an 18g. thanks Justin btw would you have an extra o-ring laying around? haha

Probably, but in the best interest of time you may just want to take the old ring to your local parts store or plumbers supply store and just match it up to something they may have on stock.

Just out of curiosity, what turbine housing does this turbo have? The shape almost resembles the rare 8cm MHI housing. Post up the "78-xxxxx" number if you're unsure.

I posted it above but here it is again: 49178-01470, thats a evo 3 compressor housing if im correct, and searching for 18g center housings lead me to the same kind of housing that I have.

the compressor wheel measurements are: 1.998 and 2.69 at least thats how close I can read them to be.

Sorry, I meant the number stamped on the turbine housing, not the compressor cover. Should either be at the top near the flange, or around the radius of the wheel on the o2 housing side.

78-11020 = 6cm
78-11830 = 7cm
78-12050 = 8cm
