Hey Guys,

myLast October I snapped my timing belt on my stock 2g spyder. The valves and the pistons kissed and I decided to get a new longblock. I ended up getitng a real EVO 3 longblock. It has everything the 16g bigger throttle body 02 sensor housing everything. Well I got the car running and its running really rich obviously because of the bigger injectors. I have a 3 inch Megan racing turob back exhaust on the way and some other things like a 190 fuelpump, but I dont know what to do. It seems like the car has a giant boost leak because it wont boost with out stuttering and or not going over 5krpm. I have a boost controller set around 15psi and its not to bad but forget going WOT with this car it just stutters. This could be to the fact I had an exhaust shop make me a temporary j pipe and hacked it up to my stock 2g lower piping. I also have stock upper intercooler piping hacked up to get onto the bigger throttle body. My question is what should I do? Play with the MAS adujustment screw? Ive been looking at frount mounts and safc's. Any ideas would help it just seemed to me I have a werid situation.

Thanks
Tom

You're going to need something to control those bigger injectors. SAFC, MAF Translator, or a custom chip if you have an EPROM ECU. Don't do anything to the MAF sensor, as you need to control the injector pulse width, and just removing the screw won't help much. This is basically used to eliminate fuel cut, but then you have to readjust with a SAFC anyway. Look around, I just picked one up for $100 shipped in the classifieds. Get on the classifieds here, look on ebay, or dsmtrader.com, you can find one used cheap.
Your next suggestion would be to build a boost leak tester and test for leaks. I went to Home Depot, bought a rubber end cap for pipe, fits 2"-2 1/2" pipe and has a worm clamp on the end. I drilled a hole in the center and installed a metal schrader valve (valve stem) that has a nut and a big washer to prevent it from pushing out. Works great and is quick and easy to put on. Grab a big soda bottle, drill a hole in the cap, and mix some dish soap and water and spray on all your couplings/gaskets to find small leaks you can't hear.
If you find some leaks on your intercooler pipes around the couplings and you can't seal them, grab your wife's/gf's can of hair spray and spray both the pipe and the inside of the coupling. Let it sit for a few minutes, then install and clamp them down. It actually works, and keeps the pipe sealed.

should i get a afpr? what about o2 sensor housing with a dump tube

This is a debatable question with a 190 fuel pump. Some experts say that a 190 pump will not over-run the factory fpr, others say that it will. For the peace of mind, of both ease of tuning, and fear of over-run, I would install one.
As far as the dump O2 housing, does it have the O2 bung in the main housing? If it does, don't worry about it, the only thing is its going to be loud when you are into boost, as the exhaust gasses bypassing the turbine are exiting right out into the atmosphere.
