hi, my buddy (with a 2002 EVO) is upgrading TO A MONSTER 60 trim, so I am gonna be getting his turbo. What exhaust manifold do I use? Do i use his or mine, or is there a nice tubular mani I can buy? Also, can I use his injectors and/or andything else he is taking off with his upgrade? I am looking to bolt this turbo on within the next month, so I am tryin to gather the needed parts. Currently installed, I have a greddy bov, greddy hard piping, greddy ebc, greddy turbo timer, and mds plug wires. I also have a 255 fuel pump, apexi safc 2, and a fmic to install. Any other hidden costs I should be aware of? Thanks for your help. -Matt

it's probably more of a PITA to make it work. the evo 8 16G is a twin scroll yadda yadda mitsu turbo and requires mods/other parts to make fit. I'd so some research before buying.

an evo3 16G is direct bolt up, however [ plus the 2g kit ]

p.s., take his injectors. i believe the yellow tops were 510's, but they're definitely higher flowing than stock 450's

The Evo 8 turbo is a small 16G and too small of a turbo in today's DSM crowd. The Evo316G is the biggest 16G available and could be had under $600 now. Of course you will need 550s foe it (660s recommended) and some sort of fuel management for it.

evo 8 turbo is a not a bolt on turbo for dsms :nono:

yea i actually went to the NY auto show yesterday and took a peek at the new evo 8 they had. the evo 8 16G faces the driver's side instead of the passenger side like traditional 16G's we use.

plus, if you haven't done research already, the collector is not the same. it's actually made like a square with a diagonal divider. totally different and a huge PITA to make work.
