Boy, sometimes you really do appreciate the timing CHAIN on your other vehicles....
What a bummer. Time for a tear down and rebuild.

Timing chains stretch and you end up with the same thing. It's a known problem with the evo x

Yeah timing chains aren't a be all end all.

And you run into other problems with a chain. Like keeping oil inside the damn engine. Changing a timing chain is harder because you have to open the motor up. And you generally have to replace more gaskets. And some motors dont even have a gasket on the front timing chain cover, just rtv. Getting rtv to seal around suck a larger area can be a mother####er.
