evaporator please help

OK so my evaporator ios shot so i ordered one and was trying to go behind the glove box so i take the glove box off and then there is this big black box that says cooling system on it is this where the evaporator os located someone please help me

Mine was on the driver side (front bumper), big black box... but i removed all EGR system....Your might be differrent, my is 98

The A/C evap should be in that black box behind the glove box

Good luck. The clips on the box go all around it, including the back. I took my entire dashboard out and still had trouble getting those boxes out. There just isn't that much room to work with.

Hopefully you won't have to go through all that bother though. I only had to remove everything because the previous owner had a "bug infestation" that he forgot to mention when I bought the car... they completely infested all my vents.
