Ets or greddy intercoolers

So you are looking at the smaller option because of a price difference when the real comparison should be the 26x12x3 ETS LOL. You are trying to compare apples to oranges.

The small ETS (7") should still be better then the greddy

The whole thing is I already have the greddy installed and have been running it. I am getting a parts car that already has the ets 7" in it so since I will own two different fmic I was deciding which was best to run. I'm don't have to put up any money to buy an ets fmic it's basically free.

Well iat are always higher than I'd like but isn't that taken at the maf before the inter cooler? I know my underwood temps are probably also high I know it gets hot under there.

Also what do think each fmic is worth?

Just out of curiosity but can you even fit a 4 or 5" thick ETS on a 2g without taking out a huge chunk of the bumper cover? I know i had to trim quite a bit just for the PR. I think thats a 3". I deleted my crash beam as well.

I still have my ac if that matters.

Just checked PR kit 3", vrsf is 3.5"(and cheaper by 60 bucks) If and when i upgrade i gotta go at least 4" on the ETS.

Op you mentioned the weight difference. That right there should explain why the smaller ets core is better. Greddy kits use tube and fun cores. They are really light for there size but they don't cool as well. I had a large greddy intercooler kit on my r 7 years ago and it was very inadequate once I upgraded my turbo and tried running more than the 12psi I had been running. Luckily I was momitoring this kind of stuff through my haltech I had at the time, because this was probably 15 years ago or more. Import guys didn't monitor and many weren't able to log this kind of stuff back then and we naively thought that anything made by greddy or hks were the best parts around.

If I were you I would go custom or ets.

Youll have to trim the bumper
Cover with any thick intercooler. It's really not a big deal, it's just plastic.

I had the VRSF, before going to ETS. The ETS is worlds above vrsf.

I was on speed density on both. Verified by iat's the numbers dont lie. An intercooler doesnt make power. An intercooler cools air. And thats what i compared

The vrsf was consistently 25-30* above ambient temps and consistently saw inlet temps of over 90* on a 65 degree day. The ets i would see 70-75 on a 65 degree day.. It isnt quite comparable with the extra inch of the Ets thickness but the welds, material, craftsmenship. On the core and even pipes are much nicer.

Both setups i has 2.5 piping. However thr ETS are stainless
