Ok so I am finally ready to turn up the boost on my 50 trim because my Denso 660's are coming in in the next week. I am pretty sure that I know the answer to this question already but I thought I would get some input from you guys.

I am going to have DSMLink by December but am wondering if an EPROM with a Stage 3 Keydiver chip with injector size compensation will be enough for a little while or should I wait until I get the DSMLink.

I only ask because I searched and found one guy running with a chip with an afc completely zeroed out and he didn't have any problems to speak of.

Please don't flame me... I have no problem waiting but just like all of us I WANT POWER NOW!!!!!!

I belive that a DSMlink is best for the 2G. and not quite as cridical but not bad on a 1G. I have the keydiver stg 3 with safc and wideband, and i think that if you goals are higher than 400 whp get the DSM link, if 340 to 390 hp are more realistic get the chip and a wideband and call it a day.

the Zietronx WB can data log and makes safc tuning very quick and easy. you just have to settle with not tweeking the timming.

Yes, a chip with injector compensation will work. I've been running a custom chip with 650's for about a year now, with my Emanage zeroed out. Yes, I have a 1G, but, it's the same idea. I would suggest waiting for the dsmlink though. Why do the work twice, when you can do it once. On top of that, how long will it take to get the chip and how much would it cost? Unless you are getting it free, it doesn't seem very cost effective to buy a chip and then replace it a month or so later. Patience is a virtue. I guess I don't have that virtue. :sneaky:

I was under the impression that I could run a custom chip and DSMLink and that the chip would just make tuning easier because the global fuel maps would be changed for my injectors already, please correct me if I am wrong.
My ultimate goal is around 400 whp but I know I need cams, alky injection and some other things to get there unless I overnight become the greatest tuner the DSM world has ever seen..... which is not likely. ROFL

Nah, dsmlink provides you with a new eprom with the compensated injector settings that you give them and the code necessary to run dsmlink. Bare in mind, I am by no means an experienced tuner. I just research a lot. Check it out here:

http://www.dsmlink.com/details-overview.html

Right at the top, it talks about socket service, etc.

PS... I'm running and Ostrich eprom emulator, I don't have experience with the dsmlink, just read a lot.
