I can only comment on my setup and how it works. Koni yellow shocks, GC coilovers 500lb up front 450 in the rear, stock sway bars, 35mm offset with 235 tires, all shocks set on firm setting. I have the car low enough that I can get a finger to finger and a half between the tire and fender...so not much room. Camber is within factory spec in the rear and just slightly too negative in the front.....can't remember exact numbers right now. So I role low and tight with some negative camber front and rear with a little rear fender lip grinded away.

Up front I do not seem to be rubbing or touching at all. In the rear even after grinding some of the lip away I seem to be rubbing slightly on larger bumps and potholes.

Key things to think of when deciding what to go with. Don't go too low, give yourself some negative camber, don't go with super wide tires and high offset rims if you plan on riding low.

Thanks staytuned for that info.
I actually want to raise my car's height a little all around but a little more in the rear to have the car instead of evenly straight more of a pitch to the front.
I'll see if i go take a few pics right now so you can get an idea of where i'm at as far as the wheel size and height.

This is where i stand as of now with my current wheels. 235/45/17 tires and 17x8 wheels.
My passenger side rear rubs on hard turns or hard bumps but my driver side rear NEVER rubs, i assume this has to be a worn suspension am i correct ?
Both rear sides seem to have the same clearance so it has to be this.
Nonetheless i will make sure to have my suspension first before i get my enkeis so i won't damage them and raise the car a little in the rear.

Wow, those same ROTA's in that picture, I ran on my civic for 3 years, no problems at all.

I know 18 by 8.5 will fit perfect but I do have a stiff K sport suspension maybe thats why mine never rubbed.. and rotas only do that with cars of high horse power drag cars or track cars, of course a honda wont break them. ROFL Rota means broken in spanish.. 18by8.5 235/40 :thumb: show pics when you get them and 17s look too small I think, I have 19s roja's that weight nothing.

Thanks miniturbo for that relief LOL.
I want to stick to 17s because of size, weight, and price.
Glad to hear though that with a stiff suspension there won't be any problems.

A honda may not have enough power to break a rim, your right. But actually ALOT of people run Rota brand wheels in motorsports environments. They are a cheap, light wheel. And obviously strong considering how many cars run them in circuit/autocross. So no one has the right to down these wheels, if they havent had a set break themselves.

That's the first time I've seen a Rota do that but I don't really look for it. I just like the way they look and how light they are. I have seen them on some really fast DSM's. STM GALLERY - Cory B. 96 Talon TSI AWD "EvilTSI" This one broke into the tens with no issues.

Did you guys even look at Martin's website? I know you say it will require fender rolling and rub, but that depends on offset and tire choice as well. Some tires are just fatter than others (such as the toyo r888). He has a calculator on the site with different wheel diameters, widths, and offsets and for you to just write it off and say they won't fit because 17x8 with 235's rub on your car is wrong. You should really check it out.

So plugging in a few wheel setups for examples:

My 1995 GSX: 17x9 +35 offset 255/40/17 kumho MX = 6.898" CS (Barely ok.. lots of fender rolling required)

A direct quote from his page using his formula for "check spacing"

If you went 27mm offset in that formula you end up with and even lower CS number which means it would sit even farther out of the wheel well. When you said this combo would fit with no rubbing you were partially right because there would be no inner control arm rubbing, what I meant by saying it wouldn't fit is that you would have to do some major fender modifications to make this work.

What if i were to get a 17x7 wheel with 225/45/17 tire ? Would that tuck even better ? It would still look wide.

I would stay with 17/8 40mm and if you want the 225 tire ....it would fit better yes.

Perfect glad you mentioned it ! I was thinking of going a slightly smaller tire.
So let me get this straight : 17x8 wheel, and 225/45/17 tire with a 40mm offset ?
Correct ?

I agree and thought you were simply saying it would not fit due to clearance issues on the control arms. Yes with this setup there will be quite a bit of fender mods seeing as how it will stick out a good 1/4" with a +27mm spacing. No intentions of insulting you or your knowledge of 2g's, you have more experience in the 2g dept. anyway.

To the OP - What do you think of Evo wheels? 17x8 I believe and fit nicely on dsm's.

I had EVO8 wheels with 255/40/17 on Eibach springs and never rubbed.

Loki77 they are nice rims, i have considered them as well but for a couple benjamins more i rather get the rpf1 instead, has a more race-car'ish look to it.
The hell with it then if an evo8 wheel doesn't rub on a 2g then i'll just stick to the 235 size as i am currently using right now.
Thanks olot guys !!!

Oh I love the rpf1's, I have 'em on my 1g! You can get evo wheels with tires for under $500, however. Rpf1's will run you about $250 a piece with shipping from tire rack, maybe a little less for smaller than 17x9 (whichI have and ordered from them) but you're still looking at over $1000 with tires if you go that route (unless you buy them used, of course). And, you may have to search high and low for them. When I ordered mine, Tire Rack, along with every other wheel distributor in the country was out of them and waiting on Enkei to produce more. They are in pretty high demand right now, but not unattainable by any means. You may just have to wait.

Now that you have your mind made up on the wheels, what tires are you going with?

Correct ?

If you went with 225 tire I believe it's 225/50/17 you would want.... 45 would be to short a tire. If my math is correct.

Tire size calculator

May I suggest my favorite tire the BF Goorich G force sport.
