Can anyone help I own a 96 eclipse 2.0 litre non turbo and on the papers it says 4G63 but your cars are 420A why is this and where can i buy a turbo kit for a 4G63 non turbo

On the firewall off the passenger side there is a badge that tels you for sure what engine you have and tranny and paint code ect. You can also check your vin for engine. What side is the tranny on? And if it isnt a 420A you can get a turbo kit just about anywhere under the sun for it.

I take it the car is not a convertible because those had a 4g64. Can you take a pic of the engine bay? If you look at the engine photos in the gallery, you will see the most distinct difference between the 420a and 4g63 is the valve cover.

is there anyone out there that has put a turbo on a 4G63 and if i get all the bits of a 4G63 turbo is it as straight forward as just bolting it on my motor please explain and also what parts would i need to order. if i did buy them straight off a 4G63 turbo how much would that cost roughly

It might not be so easy in another country where the eclipse is not as common as they are here, its also already a 4g63 so its not as hard to do.
your right mate ! im the only one here in my area with an eclipse i have never seen another on the road Ivé seen a couple on the net and thats it. for me the eclipse is one of the sexiest cars on the road today and ivé only ever wanted an eclipse i first saw the car in America on holiday in 98 when i was 16. I drove through three countries and travelled to south of spain to buy my car it takes 3 days to drive there!!!!!!!!!! but i had to have it the time was right i had just sold my house and made a little profit . im now starting to learn what there is to know about my car. Its difficult knowing i have to buy my parts from so far away i don´t want any mistakes. The funny thing is you guys know more about my car than the turbo specialist there something not right about that. They think my car doesn.t exsist or that i can´t read the papers properly. they think a 4G63 in a 96 eclipse has to be a turbo.:dsm:
