So I fully rebuilt the engine in my laser about 8 months ago. I got it all back together and the car fired right up. I drove it around for a little while and put about 200 miles on the rebuild. One day the engine started to misfire on one cylinder I believe and then it became 2 cylinders. I've been working with it and trying to fix it but the problem only seems to get worse. when it was 2 cylinders that were misfiring the engine would run but very rough and it was cylinders 2 and 3 that were mot working. I figured it would be the coil pack and so I replaced the coil pack and and now there are three cylinders not firing. the engine will not stay running at this point. I've replaced spark plugs, wires and coil pack. I've also had the ecu capacitors replaced while the engine was being rebuilt. I've tested the power transistor and without power applied I have roughly 2.4k ohms and with power supplied my meter reads 0.0 ohms. I'm not sure if these readings are out of spec by a lot or not since I don't have a known good part on hand and the dealer doesn't seem to want to help me. I've checked compression and all cylinders are up over 160 and I have fuel because there is a raw gas smell when I pulled out the spark plugs. I have also tried swapping out the cam sensor but it was a used on that I got from a buddy and I am unsure if it is good or not. timing was set correctly when the misfiring started. I am not sure if there are any intake leaks past the maf sensor but i am pretty sure there are none. I am still running stock bolt ons such as injectors, I/C piping, I/C, and the such. I do have a 16g turbo. I've also checked the injector pulse signal with a power probe and verified that I do have a pulsing ground and power at each injector. Any help would be appreciated and much needed. if there is anyone in the Kirkland/Bellevue/Redmond area that would be able to help or maybe has a good ecu that could swap in quickly and check to see if my ecu is shot. I running out of ideas and I don't want to be spending a ton of money replacing things without knowing they are bad. it also doesn't appear that I have any codes because the check engine light will not stay on after it does the bulb check.

Is it getting spark? You said you know it is getting gas and an injector pulse, but you didn't say anything about spark.

Yes I know it is getting spark. I had all four spark plugs out and groundedwhile they were in the plug wires and cranked the motor. all four plugs were sparking like they should in a waste spark system. I should also mention that it is a manual trans car.

U said you replaced the cam angle sensor, what about the crank angle sensor, Check the volt meter readings on that and match them to what they are supposed to be in a Chiltions or Haynes manual. Dealer doesn't really like to help people who are not giving them money ya know.

for my model year there is no crank angle sensor. only the cam sensor. unfortunately i think that is a failure of the older dsm's because if one sensor goes out then you most likely won't have a running motor. I did swap out the cam angle sensor but I do not know if the sensor I swapped with was good or not. it was used. I am kinda ruling out the cam sensor though because when I swapped out the sensor the engine acted the same.
