I have a 97GST with 3" Exhaust, 255 Fuel Pump and Big 16g Turbo but I have a problem. the engine is too rich. I can't get more than 200Hp because as soon I rev past 4000RPM on the Dyno too much gas is poured to the engine which limit the power.
What can I do to fix this problem which I had even with the Factory Turbo.
Thanks. :dsm:

^^^^^...yea that is absolutely correct...you need a tuning device!!!!
Not to mention injectors, unles your profile is not up to date. Otherwise your poor little 450's are being over ran.

if your running rich, just get a manual boost controller and turn it up a pound or two, and get an exhaust temp gauge.

1. Have you performed a boost leak test yet?

2. Have you run a compression test lately?

3. Though this will not effect WOT but fpr overrun probably doesn't help the situation.

4. How much psi are you running? I'm shocked that you're not creeping.

Since the amount of fuel the ecu injects is directly related to the air flow signal, how will turnning up the boost a couple of psi solve his problem?

I disagree, he does not need afc for stock 450cc injectors. In fact, it will make troubleshooting for complicated. Anytime you need to make adjustments to the afc in order to make a stock car run right, it's an indication that something is wrong, don't hide the problem with an afc, find and fix the problem instead.

your right, stock injectors, if he had bigger injector i would still turn the boost up with a hacked mas.

It couldn't hurt considering he has a walbro 255. I agree though that his car should be able to run with an aftermarket fuel pump, but every car is different. If the AFC fixes the problem then I don't see how that could be considered hiding behind it. If it fixes the problem and makes the car run better then I don't see how using an AFC is a crutch.

The solution to fpr overrun by the 255 is a afpr, not afc. fpr overrun can not be tuned out because the the effects/changes is a non linearone based on load, which is different at different rpm, gear, throttle position, psi....etc makes it impossible to dial in on the afc.

I will give you a couple of examples, which could be the causes of Tonny2g's problem

1. fpr overrun, already covered.

2. Boost leaks, leaning out on afc and continue to run hard with boost leaks possibly damage the turbo.

The bottom line is

Anytime you need to make adjustments to the afc in order to make a stock car run right, it's an indication that something is wrong
because a properly functioning stock car should run properly without help from an afc.
