Engine swap from a 1997 to a 1995 gst

Will an engine from a 97 eclipse gs-t be a direct swap into a 95 eclipse gs-t. Im pretty sure it is, but im selling my totaled car and I have a buyer who wants the engine. I guess ill just part the rest. Just want to make sure.

Yeah the engine never changed for the 95-99 eclipse models so it is an exact swap.

Well im sorry but I would have to say no... well yeah but not really. There are some things that kind of changed. Like I had a 95 talon that had the cam angle sensor by the valve cover and well my 98 GST didnt have it there.. There are a couple small changes but everything else should be the same. But the engine does swap just in without a problem. small changes that have to be done though..

Actually, let me put it this way... If I pull a 97 and 95 gs-t into a shop. Can the mechanic successfully put the 97 engine in the 95 body, using whatever parts necessary from the 97 whithout haveing to purchase anymore major parts or such?

Yes...........the key is to use the parts original to the car you are installing the engine into.
small diff's (electrical, sensors, wiring harness, etc.)
You should be alright as long as you have both vehicles.

Yes it will fit. There are differences in the sensors but the rest is mostly cosmetic and the early 95's did not come with rear disc brakes but that has nothing to do with the engine swap so its the same.

Thanks guys, any chance anyone wants to give me a list of all these particular parts I would need to take out of the 97 to get the engine to work properly in the 95? Such as the sensors and whatever else is necessary? Much appreciated.
