I just got my car back together from an exhaust stud job/full cleaning of the engine bay. My car turns over great and starts right up, but there is a strange bearing type noise that is heard coming from somewhere around or underneath the intake manifold area. I am possitive that this noise was slightly present only for a second at startup even before I changed the studs and cleaned the engine. Now the noise continues to sound somtimes often while idling after the car has been started. The car idles great through this somewhat terrible sounding noise until it throws a code. Many times the engine even idles until it has warmed up and once it reaches that point of temp. the code comes on and a few times the engine has just died imediatly but not usually. Usually when the check engine light turns on(which sometimes just turns back off and continues to idle just fine) the engine starts to buck and the rpms drop and return to around 2k in a synchronized pattern. The stock boost/vacuum pressure gauge also fluctuates in the same pattern that is synchronized with the rpms. This usually ends in the engine stalling. After a code has come up and the engine has died, the purge control solenoid tends to do some crazy things ex. opens and closes rapidly after the key is taken off of the on possition and taken out of the ignition. Although I am not sure if this solenoid behavior is related to my problem at all I am possitive that this bearing noise that I am hearing must be related. Please note that i did just thoroughly clean the engine bay and i did have this noise before working on the car so my guess is it is just something that has shit the bed and is in need of replacing. I have just ordered my own logger but as of now i am having some trouble diagnosing what code I am throwing. My guess as of right now is my idle control module? Please let me know anything your thinking, thanx help save my
