Engine revs up great, great power and smooth band. The power however is not the problem I'm having.

I did some work, corrected the BISS and adjusted the TPS.
This is a '90 laser turbo by the way.
After resetting the ecu and adjusting BISS+TPS+Timing to 5* btdc the engine revs out incredibly slow to the point that I have to slow the engine down with the clutch between shifts.

The car is cammed pretty hard and the timing light readings oscillate between 5*and 10 very fast so I chose the lowest reading to set base timing.

However this problem only exists at normal operating temperature. In open loop or even not fully warm the rev out time between shifts has me grabbing to the next gear pretty quick which is nice. At operating temp. the rev out is slow and often takes 3-4 seconds to go from 3k to idle.

I'm thinking the ECT may have an open at warm but I'm looking at what other possibilities are available?
I'm not familiar enough with DSM efi to pull the trigger on driveability problems yet.

I adjusted my BISS as VFAQ instructions and idle creeped back to 1100rpms.
I'm going to reset and try again with a timing light today.

exactly, something about it hitting closed loop is making a return to idle difficult.

I have to mention also when cruising on the freeway and then going to stop, then idle hovers at 1500 for about 10 seconds then drops suddenly to base idle. If I engine break all the way to a stop the idle goes right to base idle with no delay.

Really bad vacuum leak? Have you done a boost leak test yet? Do you have a logger?

no vacuum leaks a bottle of carb cleaner could find
no boost leak done and I highly doubt that would be a problem since if I'm hitting boost and running the balls out of the car the problem does not exist.

very strange issue

Just checked again

and the same injector seal that was leaking two weeks ago is leaking again now. So I'm on my third set of injector seals in a month. Something's going wrong.

Ok fix the injector o-ring while your at it.

Wanna know what the problem is????

You have a sticking ISC. What is happening is when your crusing the ISC is staying partially open and when you shift gears its sticking causing the RPM's to want to "hang"
when you pull up at a light if your like me then you dont press the clutch in til your around 800-1000rpm, Since the ISC is stuck in a position that puts the RPM past 800 or so RPM then when you mash the clutch the RPMS will want to jump up and hang again.
