engine removal

i have a really stupid question on how to get an engine out

ok the engine has the fly wheel on the back of it when you go to raise it out how do you get the fly wheel and clutch past it do you just turn it so it kind of spins out or what

i know the chilton book seys to take the trans out

so whats easyer

the easiest for me was to unbolt the 2bolts that hold tHe front trany mount to cross member, slide the tranny to the left almost right before it kinda falls of the crossmember and lift motor out at an angle and comes right out. cake

TAKE THE TRANS OUT FIRST.

I actually pulled my motor and didn't even touch the trans but others will say it is way easier to take the tranny out first. And yes, you have to pull the motor over to the right and it is a tight fit.

Taking out the tranny will make your life much easier. Believe me. I took the tranny off while taking the motor out. Took like 20 mins in the dark. I put it back in with the tranny connected and it was a bi***

Remove them together. If it is your first time removing an engine, please follow this advice. If you had more experience I'd say go with option #2 (sliding the transmission over). I've done quite a few and I still choose to remove both.

pretty much..unbolt the 5-7 bolts, starter, and motor mounts basically

I have everything else off its just the block and tranny still attached. So if I take off the block the flywheel is gonna stay in the tranny? My car is an auto I'm just seeing if I put it back in how I take it out
