Engine Removal Hooks?

The previous owner removed these for some stupid reason, and I need to pull the engine in my talon.

Can't really seem to find them for sale online, not even sure what they are called.

Anyone know what they are called and who sells them?

You can also drop the engine out of the bottom, if that helps.

The bottem works too. That could actually work well for you. Get the engine on the ground and if you cant jack the front of the car up high enough just use the cherry picker and lift it up!

But if you still want the hooks Id just take a look in your local junk yard or if you have to, contact Mitsubishi..

The one on the front of the motor can be substituted by bolting the chain where the hook would be mounted. Washers are usually necessary.

I have about 10 of the front one's but none of the back one's. PM me if you want one of the front one's though.

Contacted Mitsubishi they won't help me without a part number for anything older than 2000.

Contacted Chrysler, they said no and hung up.

I need to find these on the internet. Finding them in a junkyard is an impossibility as an unmolested 4g63 DSM in a yard doesn't exist in these parts, and even then they would require that I buy the entire engine to get the hooks.

Do this and if you're missing the one in the back, loop a chain or tow strap around the intake manifold.

Intake Side Engine Hanger appears to bolt in via bolts MF241284 (10x30) and MF241256 (8x28).

Stupid mechanic of my removed them when I first had my car and I didn't know a thing about dsm. Grrrr. At least now I know the part numbers to replace them

I don't even use the engine lift points.

I run a ratchet strap through the exhaust manifold about these points, and then over the valve cover and round the intake manifold.

I hate the factory lift points, this way works much better for me.

Those lift brackets really aren't nessacery. You can connect your chain to the corner intake manifold stud and the other side to the circled part. I've sucessfully supported the weight of the engine and tranny from those points more times than I can remember.

Hit up JNZ or your local dealership with those part numbers if you really want to buy them.

you can use a bolt that fits the holes then run that throught a hole in the chain on the engine hoist and use a washer so it wont go all the way through. hope this helps
