No engine vacume at 1000 RPM, will not idle under 2000 RPMS,no mods have been done
yet. The car is 1991 TSI Talon bought the car with out motor installed rebuilt enigne then timming belt jumped smashed all 16 valves, hurt turbo, so now it has new pistons new valves, used turbo,14b off automatic 92 tsi. compession 150psi. The engine has no emmisions left on it at all no EGR or CAT convter.rechecked timming today it is on the money. Cam sensor is in right. no vacume leaks found or boost leaks no idea what went wrong. any help or ideas would behelpfull.

check your base timing. check your plugs, wires, power transistor, and coil pack. Also check your ecu. I know know you said you didn't have any boost leaks, I don't know how you tested for that (hopefully with a leak tester) but MAKE sure you check and double check for boost leaks because it really sounds like you just left a hose unplugged somewhere...good luck! I hate it when the timing jumps, happened twice to me. The first time I didnt crush a single valve, the second time I smashed all 8 exhaust valves.

the car has new plugs, wires, cas, coil pack is fine.I am wondering if the head is cracked internaly or somthing on that line car runs great at speeds above 2000 RPM.
I seem to have overboost also checked all lines no leakes found at all.did a presure
test on the intake and turbo hoses and found nothig leaking or off. the egr has a plate
over it also, base timing is at 5 degrees set with scan tool from Mitubishi.thought maybe exhaust took it off still no idle. it seems to pull no fuel at idle, relly has me fooled!!
may have to pull head off today and recheck for crackes or somthing pluged.

This might not fix your prob, but if you got a turbo off of an auto, it is not a 14b, it is a 13g.

It sounds like a major vacuum leak. Maybe you have a port that you left unplugged after removing emissions. Did you check to make sure the PCV is hooked up? What about the hoses in the intake snorkel? Are they still there? Did you plug the ports on the snorkel?

Talked to tech line to day they think I am sucking air in to intake also.
the test is to close air intake to turbo and see if car starts.will try that
tonight.thanks for the ideas!!

I certainly hope there are no rags stuffed into the head or intake manifold.

No rags installed .whish the fix was that easy LOL. just dont see any where iI could be getting unmetered air from. may be a cracked manifold, dose anyone know if the turbo can suck air in besides air flow meter?

Found the problem with intake seems to have a very slight crack in it. Going to pull off the intake manifold and see if I can weld it. But thanks for your input. :thumb:
