I am a little out of my league working on DSM being an old V8 guy. Looking for some options.
My son just blew up my Laser. Unfortunately I cant find a decent 6 bolt anyplace other than a JDM engine. Using one of them would be a last resort. I find it hard to believe these engines only have 30-40000 miles on them. Thats less that 100 mile a week mileage.
Since I cant find a 2.0 turbo 6 bolt, I am considering going to the 2.4, build it up. Problem is after doing a lot of searches, it seems like there are several 4G64 engines and some of them wont hook up to my transmission.
I believe, from what Ive found on here, there are some Sonatas that have a 2.4 that I can use. Im also under the impression that I can use the 2.4 crank and swap in the 4G63T pistons and rods, use the head off the 4G63T. Correct me if Im wrong.
I could also use a list of other vehicles and years that have a 2.4 that I can use.
Any other helpful hints will be appreciated.
