I'm looking to rebuild my 99 4g63 short block but not sure witch direction to go in. I'm looking to go slightly stronger then stock for smogging purposes. Where are good places I can find a Rebuild kit with out paying more then what the car is worth. I've never done this before so I'm not sure where to start do I need to get the block machined before I get a piston size and how strong can I go before it starts dramatically effecting smog since I'm n California. Any info is appreciated
hahaha. Yea, OP, he got ya. The rings and pistons come as sets in different sizes. For a 4g63 should be 85mm, 85.5, and 86mm or stock, .020 over, and .040 over. Theres a .060 over too i think but im not sure. I wouldnt go that high on my block, id just find a used one. TMI, i know but now you know
