ok heres my story, i bough a new head from a guy here on tuner and i got it all and decided to cleaned before the install, and i went and go ahead i order some BC 272 cams from miller imports, and got my eve 8 spring and retainers from STM and I'm using the stock valve from the DSM, ok everything was ready to install i put the head on the block and torque everything down, and then i put the cam cap and torque it down to 18 ft pounds,

and here where the problem comes i try to turn but not really just to wiggle it to see if everything is good, AND THE DAM CAMS DONT EVENT MOVES AT ALL

please help I'm confused.

i put the timing just so i can crank it by the starter but not even the starter worked

thanks in advance i appreciate all the future comments thanks

edit: i forgot to mentions when i got he head i got without the cam caps so i have to reuse my old one.

Is it properly in time? Are the gears 180* off by chance?

Did you re install all the cam caps in their proper places?

If you used the starter, I'd be weary if you bent any valves if the timing is off. Never do things like that with such force.

Did you put the cams in, time it than try to turn it over? I usually let my heads sit overnight before trying to turn them so the lifters will bleed. I noticed that the first time I did cams. After I put everything in, torqued the cams down, because the lifters were not bled down it would hold the valves open.

I just noticed that last part. If you reused your old cam caps did you have them line bored to make sure they were correct? The caps are machined per each head, and can not just be switched from head to head. That could cause your issues right there.

dam i guess thats the problem! i did use my old caps and dint know i had to line honed, the guy i bough it from dint send me the caps with it, thanks for the for the info thought

First I would take the rocker arms out and see if the cams are able to turn, if not I would look at a problem with your bearing caps or the cams. If they do turn I would check your valve lifters and make sure they were bled and that there are not shims under them unless your cams require the shims.

I would try what Spectre22 said. Pull the cams out, pull the rockers out. Reinstall cams, and see if they will turn.

i bleed all the lifters before the install and use assembly lube on the install and like i said i try to spin the cam before the timing install and would not move

Its your cam caps period. The cam caps are part of the head and cant be bought or sold seperate from the head. The generic fix at this point is to find another head or pull yours back off and take it to a machine shop with the caps and have the assembly machined.

Cam caps, rod caps and main caps can not just be swapped around.
